Memories and Tradition......it seems that the older we get,
the more we cling to times that made an indelible mark in our lives. My mom would often say that she would love to go back
to when she was 17 years old. You know, like Peggy Sue..... I remember when that movie came out in 1996, Mom loved it and
romanticized about her high school years. I used to wonder why she would want to go back. For goodness sake, when I was 17,
I didn't know what I wanted. I thought I knew all the answers...........but I didn't. I thought mom and dad were....well....stupid.
28 years later, I realize that they were much wiser and seasoned then I gave them credit. Everything makes sense now...."Someday
you will understand" it drove me nuts when they would say that to me......didn't they know that I understood it perfectly
clear back then. I now too, wish I could go back to age 17. I wouldn't change my life or the
path I took, because it brought me where I am today. A beautiful, supportive and awesome wife, Michelle, and three utterly
amazing children, Jessica, Eddie and Mya. If I did get a chance to travel back in time......I would help Mom around the house,
sit down and talk about our lord Jesus, and tell her what a great job she did being our MOM. I would help Dad work on the
car, paint the house, and maybe ask him cut my hair. I would tell him that I wanted to grow up to be just like him. I would
visit my grandmothers and grandfathers more often. I would ask them about their childhood and tell them how much I appreciated
them. And maybe complete one last puzzle with Great Grandma Trowbridge. I guess I really have no need to go back, since i can always take a trip down memory lane.
Here are three videos that
all make me smile....watch them and see for yourself. Kim did a great job of putting together the Mom and Dad tributes. Jessie
put together the Dada tribute as a Christmas 2010 present to me.......it is incredible!!!
